The two cities do have a public connection
EZ-Connect is the regional commuter service run by EZ-Rider. The agency describes it as a direct trip between Midland and Odessa that begins and ends at downtown transfer plazas, where riders can connect to local routes. That makes the regional bus useful only when the local leg and your schedule also line up.

Check the airport leg separately
The commuter page describes on-request stops at Midland International Air & Space Port during operating hours. That is different from assuming every bus passes the terminal automatically. Ask EZ-Rider how to request the stop and whether your flight time fits its service window.
