Admission and availability
Special Olympics Texas says public attendance at the Fall Classic competitions is free. Athlete entry deadlines have passed; volunteer shifts use separate registration.
The current organizer matrix places competition on Friday and Saturday, October 9–10, 2026; Thursday, October 8 is used for team registration and early athlete activities. Friday schedules are bocce 8 a.m.–3 p.m., softball 9 a.m.–4 p.m., equestrian 8 a.m.–3 p.m., golf 8 a.m.–4 p.m., swimming 9 a.m.–3 p.m. and FUNdamental Sports 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday keeps the same golf, softball, swimming and FUNdamental windows; bocce runs 8 a.m.–2 p.m. and equestrian 9 a.m.–noon. The organizer labels the matrix subject to change, so recheck it before choosing a venue.
Bocce and softball are at Basin Sports Complex, 3033 NE Loop 338 in Odessa. Equestrian is at Ector County Coliseum, 4201 Andrews Highway in Odessa. Golf is at Hogan Park Golf Course, 3600 N. Fairgrounds Road in Midland. Swimming is at COM Aquatics, 3003 N. A Street in Midland. FUNdamental Sports is at the Downtown YMCA, 800 N. Big Spring Street in Midland. These are separate sites; use the sport and address together rather than navigating to a generic Midland–Odessa event pin.
Opening ceremonies, athlete services and celebration
Basin Sports Complex hosts team registration Thursday from 3–7:30 p.m., Healthy Athletes Thursday from 5–7:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Athlete Village and the Champions Lounge are scheduled at the same complex. Friday opening ceremonies are at Ector County Coliseum: dinner is listed from 5–7 p.m., athlete line-up begins at 6:15 p.m. and ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. The athlete celebration connected to High Steaks is Saturday from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Coliseum.
Special Olympics Texas says public attendance is free. Volunteer registration is separate and covers individual sports, event support, first aid and High Steaks. The organizer describes volunteering as family friendly but requires volunteers younger than 15 to be accompanied by an adult. Athlete and delegation entry deadlines have passed, so do not use the spectator or volunteer link as a late competition entry. For event questions, the organizer lists Darci Lee at dlee@sotx.org or 432-894-8217.
Each competition site controls its parking and accessible route. Contact the organizer or the specific venue before traveling if you need an access arrangement, and use the official event app or schedule page for last-minute changes. Organizer and venue photographs were reviewed, but no event-specific image with a verified reusable website license was found; this page therefore links to the originals instead of copying or hotlinking them.
