View current organizer information ↗The City of Midland’s September 29 announcement lists a 1 p.m. flyover to start the Veterans Parade. The parade runs 1–3 p.m. along A Street from Elk Street to Illinois Avenue. The park celebration runs 4–7 p.m. at Centennial Park, with the free Eli Young Band concert starting at 7 p.m. Fireworks are planned before the concert series. Times are Central.
The announced park activities include a Kids Zone, food trucks, veteran-owned vendors and a Veteran Resource Village. Guest speakers, recognition of a local veteran and parade-float awards are also planned. The city lists free hotdogs and water while supplies last. Residents throughout the Permian Basin are invited to participate.
The parade and park program have different locations and start times. For the evening celebration, Centennial Park is at 200 W. Wall Street. The park lists two-hour curb spaces and public garage parking on Texas Avenue between Main and Baird, and on Main between Wall and Missouri. Its accessible surface parking is at Texas Avenue and Main Street, across from the convention center. These are the park’s general directions; posted restrictions and event-day arrangements control where you can park.
The city says the Midland Veterans Partnership is seeking volunteers, sponsors, food trucks, veteran resource organizations, veteran-owned vendors and parade entries from businesses, schools and community groups.
