Start early at the library, then choose your downtown stops
The October 2 program adds a 4–6 p.m. pre-show at Ector County Library, 321 W. 5th Street, with video-game and chess tournaments. The main First Friday program runs 6–9 p.m. Downtown stops are spread across several blocks; use the October map to plan your walk.
Ye’ Old Bookworm, 517 N. Grant Avenue, hosts featured writers from 6–7 p.m. Copper Key Garage lists Ernesto Calderon from 6–7 p.m., followed by Permian Basin Opera from 7–8 p.m. At The Downtown Venue, 515 N. Grant Avenue, West Texas Symphony presents children’s story time and a book giveaway from 7–8 p.m. David Thomas performs in the Marriott lobby, 305 E. 5th Street, from 7–9 p.m. All times are Central.
The current participating-stops page says to pick up a First Friday map from event staff at one of the eight Odessa Arts participating locations. Collect signatures from the five featured performers; each signature counts as one raffle entry. Bring the completed map to the Odessa Arts Office, 115 W. 6th Street, to enter. This instruction comes from the current October 2 organizer page.
Discover Odessa describes free public parking in downtown lots around Texas Avenue and Lee Street, plus street parking. Follow posted restrictions when choosing a space. Take comfortable walking shoes, water, and a payment option for purchases. The visitor bureau lists this as an all-ages event; check individual businesses for entry rules.
